What you will do: The Café Dishwasher/Busser will provide fast, friendly service to guests in the Tillamook Cheese Factory Visitors Center Cafe. This position works alongside our experienced team members to provide excellent guest service to the one million guest that visit us annually. This person is a courteous, helpful, enthusiastic individual. The Café Dishwasher/Busser maintains Tillamook’s Shared Values, creating a world-class guest experience.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Food service experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • Standing and/or walking
  • Lifting 25 lbs.
  • Vision for machine or computer operations
  • Hearing

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily dish room opening procedures; turn on fan and dishwasher, fill water, set up dish cart, check chemical levels, etc.
  • Maintain three-level busing: tables, chairs and floors; clean and sanitize tables; maintain a frequent presence in the dining room.
  • Wash dishes left on tables, operate dishwasher safely—as per instructions—and hand wash all service ware and cookware.
  • Maintain cleanliness at fountain station.
  • Sweep and mop up any spills or messes on floor; keep floor free of hazards.
  • Perform closing list procedures, including but not limited to turning off dishwasher, cleaning and sanitizing entire dish room, checking chemical levels, sorting clean service ware for next day, etc.
  • Bus tables and bring tubs to the dish pit. Straighten tables and chairs. Keep floors clean and free of debris. Check fountain and coffee stations. Keep work area sanitary.
  • Maintain three-level busing: tables, chairs and floors; clean and sanitize tables; maintain a frequent presence in the dining room and front entrance of Visitors Center. Picking up garbage, wiping down outdoor picnic tables.
  • Perform opening/closing duties and side work (i.e.: restocking of soup cups, ramekins, rolled silverware, collecting outside table trackers, etc.)
  • Keep front-of-house work areas sanitary.
  • Keep dining hall stocked with lids, straws, to-go containers, napkins, condiments, cleaning/re-filling salt and pepper shakers
  • Assist front of hose by running food when needed
  • Assist in dish pit when needed ie: cover breaks or lunches, help when the pit gets backed up
  • Keep dining hall soda fountain cleaned and maintained. Wipe down stainless-steel counters and black cupboards.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors and the general public.
  • Communicate effectively.
  • Act as a team player and be able to interact with staff at all levels of the company.
  • Possess strong customer service skills.
  • Follow written or verbal instruction.
  • Read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Compute basic arithmetic.
