About The Position

Our Professional Services division is currently seeking a Disaster Recovery Engineer. The Professional Services cybersecurity practice performs security and governance assessments, analysis, and penetration testing within Flexential and customer environments. In this role you will provide consulting services to professional services customers with an emphasis on those related to a customer’s disaster recovery (DR) design, planning, implementation and testing. This includes developing strategic guidance, providing detailed written recommendations, presenting to customers, and providing hands-on technical assistance during DR test activities.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience with infrastructure architecture, network administration, or server administration.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field required or equivalent experience.
  • Skilled in understanding TCP/IP protocols, Network Topology, VPN, DNS, BGP, OSPF is required.
  • A solid understanding of Windows and Linux systems is required.
  • Understanding hypervisor technology infrastructure like VMWare and Hyper-V and DR tools.
  • Interest in learning new skills and keeping pace with changing technologies.
  • Ability to problem solve and work with others to find the best solution.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of experience in DR or business continuity related work are considered a plus.
  • Familiarity with compliance and regulatory requirements such as HIPAA, PCI, CJIS, CMMC, GDPR, and/or CCPA is a plus.
  • Technical certifications such as ZCP: Enterprise Engineer, CISSP, Network +, Security +, CCNA, NSE4, MCP, VCP , etc. are considered a plus
  • A working knowledge of cloud providers such as AWS and Azure is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct DR assessments for customer’s systems in both on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Perform assessment activities, including collecting evidence, meeting with SMEs, reviewing policies and procedures, and validation of any identified issues.
  • Design and implement DR solutions and technical control validations.
  • Conduct DR testing for customers, including validation, escalation, and reporting of results from tests.
  • Document DR and testing procedures thoroughly and concisely.
  • Coordinate communication with internal, customer, and vendor resources and facilitate escalations of issues as appropriate.
  • Learn (and share) new skills through independent research, certifications, formal training, and industry events.
  • Troubleshoot difficult problems or problems where no existing guidance is provided and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Enlist vendor aid when needed.
  • Work beyond routine nature of tasks utilizing specialized knowledge and technology.
  • Rotational 24 x 7 on-call support with occasional travel required.
  • Perform other job-related duties as required.
