D&D Foods, Inc. Job Description Job Title : Director, Warehouse Operations & Logistics Department: Shipping and Receiving. FLSA: Exempt General Function The Director of Warehouse and Logistics responsibilities include: Monitoring all product inventories, assure products are prepared for shipping and received in a timely and complete manner, oversee warehouse operations, 5-S organization, Manage FIFO, and all Transportation Requirements. Positions that Report to you: Shipping & Receiving Supervisor, Shipping & Receiving Coordinator, Shipping & Receiving, and Warehouse employees. Coverage in Director’s absence: Shipping & Receiving Supervisor. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Maintaining and ensuring food safety. Report any food safety deviations to your supervisor immediately. Reports to work when scheduled and on time. Adheres to company policies and departmental guidelines. Assist in and manage accurate inventory of products, daily, monthly & quarterly in cooperation with Director of Purchasing, Inventory Specialist, and ERP Applications & Data Manager. Oversees proper temperature storage, FIFO of all products, and supplies across facility. Performs logistical duties i.e. scheduling inbound and outbound loads to include corresponding paperwork including bills of lading and trailer temperature monitoring programs. Oversees customer orders, schedules internal, and external loads to arrive as requested, and assists in receiving purchase orders. Oversees the duties, leads, and manage shipping and receiving employees. Oversees 5-S organization of all storage, warehouse, & maintains a Lean Manufacturing culture. Coordinates and is primary contact for all facility recycling, trash, pallets, and inedible disposal. Conducts, Leads, and Documents all Forklift Training and Pallet Jack Training Programs in cooperation with Director of Safety and Training Implements company employee safety, security, and ammonia safety plans/procedures. Works with D&D Personnel on upcoming Ads and Promotions to ensure on time delivery Oversee all Sanitary Transportation and Department USDA, FDA, OSHA and SQF Requirements for sanitation and documentation are being met. Demonstrate/Utilize computer for ERP Inventory documentation. Prioritizes premier service for all incoming and outgoing Company and Contract Drivers Responds to after-hours requests from Drivers, Dispatch, or D&D Management as needed Ability to motivate and lead people Performs other job-related duties, helps in other areas, and special projects as required. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics: Excellent verbal communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail, follow through, and proven management skills. Ability to read and interpret laws and regulatory guidelines. Must be knowledgeable of warehouse, distribution, safety programs, DOT Laws, OSHA, USDA, FDA, SQF Regulations, and Lean Manufacturing Ability to handle confidential information Able to bend, stoop and lift up to 50 pounds on a daily basis. Education and Experience: High School Degree. Two years’ experience in warehouse operations, transportation, and/or food plant production operations. One year of management experience. Physical Requirements: This is considered a semi-skilled position. Frequent to constant handling, grasping of paper, constant listening, talking, hearing, writing, seeing, reading, dealing with people, influencing others, evaluating information and supervising. Working Conditions: Duties split between an office setting and warehouse locations including coolers and freezers. Frequent deadlines exist while handling multiple tasks. Equipment Used to Perform Job: Photocopier, fax machine, office telephone system, ERP System, 2-Way Radios, and Microsoft Office. Required to wear safety toed footwear in Warehouse Areas.
