About The Position

JOB SUMMARY Provides oversight, leadership and achievement of results for Retail Donation Centers (RDC), Donation Drives, Transportation and E-Commerce for Goodwill of the San Francisco Bay (GSFB) and its affiliated entities. Provides leadership and general management skills for both short and long-term success. Key responsibilities include operations, financial management, human resources, and Team Member training & development. RESPONSIBILITIES Executes operations plan to achieve required targeted growth in daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly goals for RDC's, Donation Drives, Transportation and E-Commerce. In partnership with other leaders, continually identifies and develops new business lines and opportunities for continued Revenue growth and Operating Income potential. Drives process improvement and cost savings initiatives through evaluating current processes, identifying best practices, and developing plans to reach goals and implement improvements, continuously developing tools/systems and automating processes. Ensures payroll and operating costs are managed to budget. Cultivates partnerships in the community for Goodwill In-kind Donation Drives, with a focus on corporations, schools, youth groups, faith communities, neighborhood associations, and sports teams. Manages In-kind donation drives for Goodwill from local businesses. Partners with community businesses and organizations to promote GSFB's mission. Works to coordinate and communicate donation drive activities to promote GSFB's programs throughout the community. Hands off leads to the appropriate Team Member for financial support, grants, volunteers, hiring, and personal contributions. Ensures Team Members deliver excellent customer service to donors and customers. Implements general policies established by the EVP & COO, directing their administration and execution. Works with EVP & COO to analyze, identify and execute strategic goals and objectives. Builds and manages strong working relationships with Team Members. Serves as a Goodwill ambassador to the community. Makes decisions on matters relating to the day-to-day operation within his/her defined area including the strategic planning of resources. Works closely with GSFB's marketing department to develop and continually improve Donation Drives collateral. Works with Goodwill International and other Goodwill locations nationally to learn donation drive best practices and collateral ideas. Works with VP of Retail and VP of Aftermarket Goods to ensure correct product flow. Ensures that Team Members are operating per company standards and procedures relating to Security, Health and Safety; influences any changes necessary to meet statutory requirements, ensuring minimum risk to Team Members and the business. Partners with support areas (Asset Protection, Human Resources, Safety, Finance, etc.) to further business goals and ensure compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and regulations. Works with the assigned HR Business Partner to ensure people management goals are achieved and issues are satisfactorily resolved. Maintains regular and consistent in-person attendance. Responsible for performance management (coaching, discipline, performance improvement plans, and annual reviews), staffing, compensation, and development of Team Members. Performs other related duties, as assigned.

Requirements

  • 7+ years' work experience in fundraising and community development and Logistics or any combination of education and work experience.
  • Experience with Cal OSHA, Department of Toxic Substances (DTSC), Cal Environmental Protection Agency (CalEPA), fire codes, and managing hazardous waste.
  • Excellent internet navigation required.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team leadership abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen, where applicable for position.
  • Ability to speak and read English proficiently.
