Video: Videojet Technologies | We’re There, Protecting What Matters Most Reporting to the Vice President, Veralto Enterprise System (VES), the Lean Director, VES, is an individual contributor role. This position will lead the deployment and continuous evolution of the Veralto Enterprise System (VES) across Illinois manufacturing and operations sites. In this role, you’ll drive operational excellence, strengthen supply chain and service performance, and accelerate continuous improvement through lean methodologies and VES tools. This is an opportunity to shape a multi-site lean culture, influence senior leaders, and build a sustainable improvement engine for a growing business. You’ll work closely with operations, supply chain, procurement, and service leaders at the Wood Dale, Elk Grove, and Belleville, Illinois, sites to align improvement priorities, execute kaizen, and remove performance barriers. Success in this role means delivering measurable improvements in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and growth while building a strong internal bench of certified lean practitioners and VES leaders. This role is 100% onsite and requires minimal travel to Videojet’s US based plants. No two days are the same—each day brings new challenges and evolving responsibilities:

Requirements

  • Significant experience in operations, commercial, or engineering roles within manufacturing or industrial environments, with demonstrated responsibility for performance improvement.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven ability to assess key operational metrics and performance from a “plant manager” point of view and translate insights into clear actions.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing continuous improvement strategies using lean and/or VES toolsets (e.g., kaizen, standard work, problem solving).
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to inform, persuade, and gain alignment across multiple levels and functions.
  • Hands‑on, detail‑oriented working style combined with strategic thinking and the ability to see the big picture for multi‑site operations.
  • Proficiency with standard office tools (word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software) and demonstrated time and project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and execution of VES and lean initiatives across Wood Dale, Elk Grove, and Belleville sites to achieve Policy Deployment and Strategic Plan objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement in operations, service, and supply chain performance by leveraging VES tools, problem-solving methodologies, and structured change management.
  • Create and manage robust kaizen and continuous improvement funnels so that the sites maintain a healthy pipeline of high-impact projects.
  • Develop and maintain a multi‑year VES roadmap with site and company leadership so that improvement efforts are prioritized and sequenced against business needs.
  • Coach leaders and associates in the practical application of VES tools, lean production principles, and kaizen leadership to strengthen in‑house capability.
  • Facilitate kaizen events, workshops, and training (including with Veralto, Shingijutsu, and other partners) to ensure events are well-scoped, productive, and sustain results.
  • Diagnose workflow impediments and other forms of waste across value streams and recommend appropriate lean tools (e.g., standard work, visual management, value stream mapping) to eliminate them.
  • Improve your own VES facilitation and training skills by pursuing certification in VES tools so that you role‑model continuous learning and mastery.
  • Promote and support the development of Lead Certified Practitioners, creating and executing plans to increase their number and leverage them for further improvements.
  • Collaborate with other OpCo and Veralto sites to benchmark, share best practices, and incorporate learnings into the Illinois VES deployment.
