ComEd is currently looking for 2 directors to join our Transmission and Substation Engineering management team. The Director of Transmission Engineering will provide strategic leadership for the planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of the high‑voltage transmission system. This role partners across the organization to lead initiatives that impact regulatory policy, transmission planning, technology adoption, and capital investment strategies. The Director of Substation Engineering will provide strategic leadership for the planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of substations. This role partners across the organization to lead initiatives that impact technology adoption and capital investment strategies. Both roles will ensure system safety, reliability, resiliency, and full regulatory compliance, while driving long‑term grid modernization and supporting future system growth. The position will lead the identification, evaluation, and implementation of innovative technologies that enhance performance and operational efficiency (transmission grid or substation). In addition, the Director will lead and direct the personnel and activities of the T&S Engineering organization, to optimize the engineering and design activities of the Transmission Lines, Relay and Protection, and Substation Engineering and Equipment groups ensuring adherence to standards while using technical expertise to maximize system reliability balanced with an understanding of the financial impact. Position may be required to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.
