Why This Role Matters The Director, Trade and Distribution (T&D) reports to the Senior Director, T&D and is responsible for business development, account management, and trade operations across assigned retail, wholesaler, and distributor partners. This role serves as the primary point of contact for these accounts, managing relationships, monitoring performance, and ensuring alignment with key metrics and KPIs.   The Director drives cross functional collaboration with Commercial, Legal, Supply Chain, Government Affairs, and Medical Affairs to grow product access and sales. They engage directly with executive and senior leaders across Retail Pharmacy, Wholesalers, Distributors, and Strategic Accounts on both commercial and public interest business.   The role requires strong analytical and strategic planning capabilities, including developing long term plans, setting performance goals and budgets, and providing ongoing reporting and analysis on distribution trends. Success in this position requires strong influence and communication skills, critical thinking, and the ability to navigate the healthcare landscape with confidence. The ideal candidate is adaptable, solutions oriented, comfortable with ambiguity, and proactive in identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline plus 8 years of direct, related experience
  • Experience in customer account management at the national/enterprise level, inventory control compliance, contracting and rebating, and commercial strategic planning at the national/enterprise level
  • Demonstrated success establishing distribution contracts with pharmacy and distribution providers
  • Demonstrated strong understanding of the market impacting Emergent’s products
  • Demonstrated strategic and analytical agility with the ability to understand complex business issues and opportunities
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a proven record of delivering results
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across diverse stakeholders and effectively articulate the company’s vision and mission.
  • High accountability for their actions, results, and ability to ensure an elevated level of commitment to the success of the organization, peers, and customers
  • Highly developed organizational and planning skills
  • Extensive travel may be required, including overnights
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Ability to be a motivated self-starter, capable of independent action and business savvy

Responsibilities

  • Implement Trade and Distribution Channel Strategy within assigned accounts
  • Execute Contracting Agreements within assigned accounts
  • Represent and Integrate Trade Operations into Cross-functional Teams
