About The Position

The Director, Team Sponsorship, will help drive forward the development and execution of sponsorship and commercial strategies across all 13 teams. This role will be accountable for establishing world-class partnership management standards, enhancing the value and effectiveness of team sponsorship platforms, and driving incremental revenue through innovative, data-led commercial solutions.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in sports sponsorship, commercial partnerships, or related commercial leadership roles, preferably within team or league environments.
  • Demonstrated track record in developing, closing, and managing complex, multi-faceted sponsorship programs at a regional and/or global level.
  • Strong understanding of partnership valuation, rights packaging, and ROI/ROO measurement methodologies.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing senior stakeholders in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to represent the organization credibly to senior brand and agency executives.
  • Experience working with or within agencies, brands, or rights holders on integrated partnership campaigns and activation programs.
  • Familiarity with global sports, media, and commercial trends, ideally with experience in golf or other major international sports properties.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Team General Managers to develop and implement team-specific commercial and sponsorship strategies that align with overall league objectives and each team's unique brand positioning.
  • Design and oversee a unified team sponsorship framework, including proposition development, asset packaging, pricing, and go-to-market approaches to support new business and renewal efforts.
  • Establish and champion best-in-class partnership management practices across all teams, covering onboarding, activation planning, performance measurement, reporting, and renewal strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with central functions (e.g., League Partnerships, Marketing, Media, Events, Legal, and Finance) to ensure integrated delivery of team sponsorships and alignment with league-wide standards and platforms.
  • Support teams in building and maintaining robust sponsorship pipelines, including creation of sales materials, inventory matrices, and valuation tools that articulate clear commercial value to partners.
  • Develop toolkits, playbooks, and governance models that enable consistent, scalable sponsorship execution and partner servicing across all 13 teams.
  • Provide senior-level counsel to internal stakeholders on partnership structure, rights optimization, and negotiation strategy to enhance long-term commercial value.
  • Monitor global sponsorship and sports marketing trends and translate insights into actionable recommendations for teams and the league.
  • Help teams hone and execute their sponsorship process from prospecting to pitching to closing.
