About The Position

Oversee tax matters across multiple regions and jurisdictions. Advise senior leadership on tax risks and opportunities related to strategic decisions. Ensure governance, ethical practices, and strong internal controls. Drive process improvements, systems enhancements, and best practices. Lead audits and interactions with tax authorities. Lead and develop senior-level tax staff. Oversee and execute M&A tax strategy and integration plans for Canadian and Latin American acquisitions and new business ventures Lead tax planning and strategy projects, including acquisition integrations Support tax controversy cases, incentive requests, and negotiations with tax authorities Develop and review models assessing tax risks and corresponding financial impacts Collaborate cross-functionally to assess tax ramifications of global initiatives Communicate tax outcomes and legislative changes to the U.S. tax consolidation team Manage relationships with external advisors and contractors Supervise a seasoned tax professional

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2 years of experience leading others
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant corporate tax experience, preferably with a large multinational
  • Proven experience in acquisition and integration tax planning
  • Deep knowledge of OECD BEPS initiatives and their Canadian and Latin American implementation
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
  • Strong critical thinking ability for fast-paced, multi-regional work environments
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel
  • University degree and/or postgraduate qualification in Law, Accounting, or Tax.
  • Self-motivated with strong project management skills
