Director Surgical Services
About The Position
The Director of Surgical Services is responsible for providing clinical and administrative direction for the Department of Surgery which includes surgery, the preadmission care unit, the post anesthesia care unit, the ambulatory surgery center and the sterile processing unit. Is responsible for the performance of these units through the management of personnel, identification of and response to market conditions, and by ensuring compliance with accrediting and regulatory requirements. Effectively manages the capital, financial and human resources of the Department of Surgery. Develops and implements appropriate plans, goals, budgets, and policies to ensure alignment with the Ministry strategic plan and goals. Plans and directs the delivery of quality patient care and related services.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Current RN license in the State of Illinois.
- A minimum of five years of hospital nursing experience and at three years experience as a surgical services nurse manager in a large hospital or surgical services director.
Nice To Haves
- CNOR preferred.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Master’s of Science in Nursing or equivalent degree (MBA, MSN, MHA or related field)
- Membership in a professional organization
