Learn more at https://www.jnj.com/innovative-medicine We are recruiting a Director of Strategy & Operations to join the Data Science & Digital Health (DSDH) Strategy & Operations team. This Director is responsible for bringing external insight into DSDH strategy and communications. The role connects internal work with the broader data science, AI, and digital health landscape, generating strategic content and real‑time insights that inform leadership thinking and internal narratives. The role directly supports the Chief Data Science Officer and Sr. Director, Strategy & Operations in externally informed strategic communications.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree (Master’s preferred; PhD a plus) in Life Sciences, Computational Biology, Data Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in strategy, management consulting, or insight‑driven roles in healthcare, life sciences, or technology.
  • Consulting background strongly preferred (e.g., McKinsey, BCG, or similar firms with digital, AI, or analytics strategy practices).
  • Strong biological and/or computational background enabling deep engagement with AI and data science topics.
  • Deep familiarity with the external AI and data science landscape.
  • Strong synthesis, storytelling, and executive communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience producing thought leadership, strategic content, or industry‑facing insights.
  • Experience engaging with innovation ecosystems, partnerships, or industry forums.
  • Familiarity with governance and responsible innovation principles.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and curate strategic content by synthesizing internal deliverables, partner outcomes, and thought leadership, and adapting narratives for multiple stakeholder audiences.
  • Act as a strategic connector between internal execution and the external AI ecosystem, translating real‑time market trends and external discourse into actionable insights and aligned messaging.
  • Monitor and synthesize external trends across data science, AI, and digital health in the life sciences.
  • Translate external signals into strategic insights for DSDH leadership.
  • Generate high‑quality strategic content leveraging internal projects, publications, and outcomes.
  • Connect DSDH work to broader industry direction and emerging conversations.
  • Develop externally informed case studies and strategic narratives for multiple audiences.
  • Adapt content for different stakeholder groups, including internal leadership and enterprise partners.
  • Partner closely with a peer Director focused on internal strategy to ensure consistent, aligned messaging.
  • Maintain stakeholder mapping to tailor communications and positioning.
