About The Position

The Director, Stroke and Spine Center provides system-wide leadership for the strategic development, expansion, and standardization of Stroke and Spine services across the RNI. The Director is responsible for the development and implementation of a Certified Spine Center model, along with the responsibility of continuing and maintaining Comprehensive Stroke Center certification. This role ensures consistent, evidence-based care models, operational standards, and service alignment across the RNI Spine and Stroke Center Service Lines to support quality outcomes, certification readiness, and sustainable program growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing AND Current Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which services will be provided or current multi-state Registered Nurse license through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC) OR Master’s Degree in business, healthcare or other related field
  • Seven (7) years experience in Healthcare delivery with at least three (3) years of progressive supervisory and/or management experience

Responsibilities

  • Leads the overall strategy, clinical direction, and operations for Spine and Stroke programs across the system, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based care at every location.
  • Builds, leads, and supports the Spine and Stroke workforce by hiring strong talent, setting clear expectations, coaching leaders, managing performance, and supporting ongoing professional growth.
  • Oversees day-to-day operations and financial performance, including budgeting, resource planning, and accountability for staffing, productivity, and expenses.
  • Identifies system-wide challenges and opportunities related to quality, operations, and compliance, and works with leaders to resolve issues and improve performance.
  • Partners with institute and physician leadership to develop and maintain policies, clinical protocols, and practice standards that support consistent, high-quality care.
  • Promotes strong collaboration across nursing, physicians, ancillary services, pre-hospital providers, and external partners to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
  • Ensures accurate and reliable data collection, reporting, and analysis to support certification, accreditation, regulatory requirements, and performance improvement.
  • Leads performance improvement efforts by monitoring quality metrics, reviewing cases and trends, addressing risks, and supporting timely corrective actions.
  • Oversees orientation, education, and ongoing competency development for Stroke and Spine staff, working closely with education and operational leaders.
  • Supports continuing education, professional development, and conferences, including collaboration with medical directors on continuing medical education initiatives.
  • Leads community outreach and prevention efforts to improve awareness, access, and population health outcomes related to Spine and Stroke care.
  • Ensures effective, efficient, and compliant delivery of telestroke and teleneurology services across the system.
  • Drives program growth and expansion efforts, including the development and rollout of Certified Spine Center standards across system locations.
  • Represents the Spine and Stroke Service Line on hospital, system, and community committees, serving as a trusted clinical and operational leader.
  • Leads change management and continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen care delivery, support certification readiness, and ensure long-term program success.
