About The Position

True Classic is hiring a Director of Sourcing & Production to lead our global supply chain across all product categories, countries, and channels. This leader is accountable for reducing fully landed COGS, accelerating lead times, improving payment terms, and delivering top-tier quality on time and in full. This role sits at the center of our Supply Chain & Logistics Transformation, driving margin expansion, cash efficiency, and international scalability. We are seeking a strategic and highly hands-on operator who can design the system and execute inside it. All True Classic roles are global and omni-channel, leading designated areas of accountability across all product categories, countries, and commercial channels including DTC, retail, wholesale, marketplaces, and international markets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 10+ years of global sourcing and production experience in apparel or consumer goods
  • Deep expertise in FOB, DDP, duty optimization, FTZ, and international trade compliance
  • Proven record of driving material cost reductions at scale
  • Experience negotiating extended vendor payment terms
  • Strong financial acumen with ability to model landed cost and cash impact
  • Experience managing multi-country production in omni-channel environments
  • Track record of reducing lead times while improving quality and reliability

Responsibilities

  • Build and continuously optimize a global vendor portfolio aligned to cost, speed, and quality
  • Re-bid vendors by category every 6 months to maintain pricing discipline
  • Shift production to lower-duty and duty-free countries where margin accretive
  • Implement First Sale valuation and HTS optimization
  • Standardize raw materials and scale fabric programs for leverage
  • Consolidate factory base into fewer, deeper partnerships
  • Own fully landed COGS across: FOB unit cost Freight-in Duties & tariffs Insurance Inland transportation Compliance & brokerage
  • Drive 30% reduction in fully landed cost per unit
  • Model and govern FOB vs DDP decisions per lane and vendor
  • Preserve duty drawback eligibility where financially advantageous
  • Optimize FTZ utilization aligned to velocity and cash impact
  • Run freight RFPs, route optimization, and container utilization programs
  • Reduce air freight through improved production predictability
  • Improve payment terms toward Net 90 from DC receipt for core vendors
  • Structure volume commitments to unlock extended terms
  • Optimize PO cadence with smaller, more frequent buys
  • Support SKU rationalization and replenishment-based buying
  • Align sourcing decisions to cash conversion cycle impact
  • Own global production planning and milestone tracking
  • Ensure OTIF performance across vendors and regions
  • Implement rigorous quality control standards pre, during, and post production
  • Reduce defect rates and production-related returns
  • Build early warning systems to proactively manage risk
  • Drive end-to-end lead time under 60 days
  • Target production under 30 days through: Fabric reservation programs Capacity pre-booking Core SKU lock-in
  • Optimize transit lanes and mode mix
  • Diversify ports and nearshore speed-sensitive SKUs when justified
  • Partner on target cost engineering at tech pack stage to protect margin from design through production
  • Align production cadence to category strategy, pricing, and inventory health
  • Support DTC, retail, wholesale, and marketplace requirements with channel-specific sourcing strategies
  • Model landed cost, margin, and cash timing impacts to inform sourcing decisions and forecasting
  • Ensure seamless transition from production to freight, customs, and DC execution
