About The Position

Position Description : Leads the design and implementation of business-wide Web-based applications. Provides technical leadership to all team members to strategically develop and deliver high functioning software. Manages and solves team organizational conflicts to support business multi-faceted software solutions. Establishes software engineering standards, influences strategic decisions, and builds solutions according to Agile methodologies. Draws on in-depth knowledge of applications, Cloud technologies, web architecture, and software development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Information Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and six (6) years of experience as a Director, Software Engineering (or closely related occupation) developing Web-based applications using Java, Angular, and HTML in a financial services domain.
  • Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Information Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and four (4) years of experience as a Director, Software Engineering (or closely related occupation) developing Web-based applications using Java, Angular, and HTML in a financial services domain.
  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) developing best practices for the full software creation process, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, test automation, and Continuous Integration (CI), using Git for source control, Jenkins for CI, SonarQube for code quality analysis, Spock and Groovy for test automation, and Docker to build processes and containerization.
  • DE performing project management and team coordination to manage and build a results-oriented implementation team delivering strategic software products and services in an Agile development environment, using JIRA, Confluence, Microsoft Teams, GitHub, and Jenkins.
  • DE leading the design, development, and implementation of Web-based applications within a cloud-based environment, using Angular, Java, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Docker, Kubernetes, and Jenkins.
  • DE building Web applications using JavaScript frameworks – Angular.js, Angular 18, and HTML5; performing front-end development using Angular.js and Angular 18 within a responsive Web de-sign environment; developing Semantic HTML and HTML5 User Interface (UI), including defining formatting rules and responsive designs, using CSS and SCSS according to Bootstrap frameworks; and performing application migration within a modern web development environment, to covert Web applications written in struts to Angular 18 framework, using Angular 18, Git, and Jenkins.

Responsibilities

  • Translates and incorporates business vision and strategy to architectural strategy recommendations at the functional level.
  • Participates in high-level, cross- functional architecture design teams.
  • Identifies and consults with internal and external technical resources to produce cross-company strategic designs.
  • Consults on development and delivery of major technology initiatives for the business unit.
  • Consults on deployment of major project deliverables.
  • Consults on the documentation of major technology application.
  • Oversees the technical implementation of cross-divisional or company architectural components.
  • Initiates and drives project or strategy discussions with users or external groups to resolve issues.
  • Sets vision, goals, and direction of team/organization.
  • Plans and leads organization-wide initiatives.
  • Provides leadership, technical supervision, and expertise to multiple teams in broad technical areas on complex organization-wide projects.
  • Advises senior management on technical strategy.
  • Researches and recommends new technologies.
  • Works across groups to identify opportunities for organization-wide technology initiatives.
  • Regularly provides guidance, training, and coaching to other team members for performance and career development.
  • Identifies and plans for future resource needs.
  • Determines technical approaches at a strategic level for the business unit.
