About The Position

We are seeking a collaborative, hands-on Director, Software Engineering to lead delivery within our Property Intelligence segment. You will guide a distributed team responsible for mission-critical, client-facing applications. The ideal candidate is passionate about using AI to automate operations and reduce lead times, while serving as the vital hub for cross-functional execution to ensure delivery targets are met seamlessly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years in a leadership role driving software engineering delivery for mission-critical, client-facing applications.
  • Modern Architecture: Expert-level experience with event-driven microservice architecture and API-First Development principles.
  • Demonstrable hands-on technical expertise in Java/Spring Boot Framework software engineering (preferably utilizing micro frontend and microservices architectures), alongside Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and modern Data Engineering practices.
  • Proven success navigating matrixed organizations to drive delivery, mitigate risks, and resolve issues.
  • Strong experience managing distributed teams and operationalizing communication with offshore resources.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships, negotiating SOWs, approving monthly invoices, and managing team budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of mission-critical software applications within the Property Intelligence platform.
  • Provide hands-on technical guidance and architectural oversight, specifically utilizing Java, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and data engineering principles.
  • Leverage AI and automation to streamline workflows, optimize processes, and accelerate delivery times.
  • Drive on-time delivery by collaborating with matrixed departments and proactively resolving risks and roadblocks.
  • Mentor a distributed engineering team, both for career growth and to nurture Cotality's values and innovative culture, while establishing highly efficient operations and communication with offshore resources.
  • Oversee financial administration for your team, including managing budgets, negotiating vendor Statements of Work (SOWs), and approving monthly invoices.
  • Define and track performance metrics and SLAs to ensure high system reliability and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain strict adherence to Cotality's standards and best practices.
