Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in software development.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Deep expertise in the modern Java ecosystem, including building resilient and scalable microservices with Spring Boot. A strong background in both imperative (RESTful APIs, JPA/Hibernate) and reactive (Spring WebFlux, Project Reactor) programming paradigms is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex data challenges using SQL. You should be adept at untangling and optimizing inefficient queries, navigating intricate data models, and writing sophisticated queries to support business intelligence needs.
  • Proven experience with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud (GCP) or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Familiarity with modern infrastructure, including Docker containers and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with CI/CD processes and Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  • You are a technically strong engineer with a background in designing and building scalable distributed systems.
  • You can dig into the details but also see and communicate the big picture.
  • You possess a deep understanding of business domain knowledge, including functional processes and business objectives.
  • You are a self-driven and effective team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • You possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Mentorship:
  • Lead, mobilize, and encourage one or more teams of internal and outsourced engineers. Proactively mentor subordinates and be responsible for all performance-related activities, including delivering performance reviews.
  • AI-First Development Culture:
  • Champion an AI-first engineering culture by coaching the team to integrate Cadent's suite of AI development tools into their core workflows—from initial code creation to pull request reviews—to enhance productivity and code quality.
  • Technical Strategy & Execution:
  • Transform Cadent’s technical strategies into actionable plans, projects, and objectives for your team(s). Provide technical oversight on high-level implementation plans and evangelize best practices in technology and architecture.
  • Hands-On Development:
  • Dive into hands-on development of enterprise applications, APIs, and services. Design and implement robust relational and NoSQL schemas and contribute to the codebase to ensure the delivery of high-quality software.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Partner with Product Managers, AMO and other cross-functional leaders to analyze requirements, coordinate development resource allocation, and manage priorities to deliver complete solutions.
  • Technical Ownership:
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all technical and deployment questions, troubleshoot and debug complex issues, and recommend innovative solutions based on industry best practices.
  • Process & Financial Management:
  • Proactively look for opportunities for the continual improvement of development strategies and processes. Participate in budget planning and manage established budgets for your area of responsibility.
