The Director, Salesforce Engineering is responsible for the strategy, engineering execution, and operational excellence of GreatAmerica’s Salesforce platform. This role leads Salesforce Engineering and Platform Enablement, ensuring the platform is secure, scalable, and high-performing while enabling business outcomes across Sales, Service, Marketing, Partner/Dealer experiences, and internal operations. The Director partners closely with Product, Architecture, Security, Risk/Compliance, Data & Integration teams, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions that meet regulatory, audit, and operational standards. As a Director, Salesforce Engineering, you will be responsible for: Leadership & Strategy Own the multi-year Salesforce platform strategy and roadmap aligned to enterprise business objectives. Define the platform vision, including architecture standards, automation strategy, data quality, and integration posture. Establish and govern platform standards covering architecture, security, data, and release management. Ensure compliance with financial services controls, including access management, auditability, segregation of duties, and change governance. Build, lead, and develop high-performing Salesforce engineering and platform enablement teams and enable them through AI-native engineering. Serve as the executive point of accountability for Salesforce stakeholders and strategic partners, including vendor performance and value realization. Technical Engineering & Innovation Ensure consistent, scalable architecture across Salesforce (Apex, LWC, Flows, integrations, data models). Define and enforce engineering standards for code quality, testing, documentation, and observability. Drive platform modernization, including security model standardization and scalable integration patterns. Advance Salesforce CI/CD and DevSecOps practices, including automated testing and deployment. Enable productivity through reusable components, accelerators, templates, and developer enablement. Partner with Product and business leaders to apply automation and AI capabilities with appropriate governance. Collaborate with Integration and Data teams to ensure reliable, secure integrations and high data quality. Delivery Excellence Own end-to-end delivery for Salesforce engineering and platform enablement initiatives. Establish strong quality and reliability practices, including automated testing, performance validation, and release controls. Lead operational readiness and production support, including incident management, root cause analysis, and runbooks. Improve delivery performance by reducing change failure rates and improving recovery times. Define and track platform metrics (availability, release throughput, defect escape rate, cycle time, adoption). To be successful in the role, you will need: Education Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related field. Salesforce certifications (e.g., Revenue Cloud Consultant, Integration Architecture Designer) are a plus.
