About The Position

The Director of Retail Sales is responsible for leading our efforts to build and implement retail strategies to deliver our commercial priorities across the West Region states within the Grocery, C-Store, Mass Merch, and Club channels. In this role, you will lead and work directly with a Key Account team to implement a structured retail sales process designed to understand performance opportunities, build local account plans and develop category strategies to drive growth for AB brands. This role will work cross functionally with our internal and external partners and develop relationships with local customers to execute AB sales objectives including, volume, share, distribution, shelf space and promotion opportunities.

Requirements

  • B.A. / B.S. Degree highly preferred
  • Sales experience in consumer goods to retail chain accounts preferred
  • Knowledge of retail selling initiatives such as category management and information-based selling with ability to build strong relationships with wholesalers and retailers
  • General knowledge of the beverage industry and direct store delivery
  • Strong communication, presentation, follow-up, and organizational skills
  • Analytical mindset with knowledge of Excel and ability to use multiple data sources (retailer scan, shipments, IRI, BIR, loyalty, basket) to make data-based recommendations
  • Knowledge of Category Management (SPP, IGNITE) and sales applications (iDIG, HERO, Catalyst, Big Tin Can, Power BI, AB Marketing, Perch)

Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop, and enhance business partnerships with account customers and emerging retail channels in the Arizona & Nevada markets
  • Work closely with Key Account Managers to develop strategic retail plans to drive incremental sales and share gains for A-B
  • Recruit, coach, train, and mentor retail Key Account Managers in order to improve chain account performance
  • Coordinate communication between various corporate departments, field managers, and wholesalers to improve chain retail execution
  • Develop and implement promotional strategies to drive revenue growth while managing and effectively utilizing Sales and Marketing budgets
