Job Summary The Director of Regional Security Operations is responsible for executing enterprise security strategies and initiatives at the regional level, ensuring alignment with global standards while managing frontline security operations. This role serves as the bridge between field operations and strategic priorities, providing strategic direction, leadership, and operational support to a team of security professionals. The Director collaborates with cross-functional business channel stakeholders to develop and implement comprehensive security strategies and oversee the regional security operations, including budget and performance management. Position must be located within the Beltway Region or Keystone Region.

Requirements

  • Experience leading and managing remote or geographically dispersed teams, ensuring effective communication, engagement, and performance across multiple regions.
  • Proven experience in security operations management, preferably in a corporate or organizational setting.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • In-depth knowledge of security principles, best practices, and technologies.
  • Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and standards related to security operations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in conducting security risk assessments and developing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Knowledge of physical security systems, access control, video surveillance, and incident management platforms.
  • Proficient in using security management software, tools, and technologies.
  • Familiarity with emergency response procedures and crisis management protocols.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; master’s degree preferred in an area of study relevant to this position (i.e., Security Management, Criminal Justice, Business, Compliance, Homeland Security, etc.).
  • Generally, requires 10+ years of progressively increasing responsibility in corporate security , including experience managing teams of security professionals.
  • The ideal candidate will have a full suite of security expertise—covering crisis management, physical security, critical infrastructure protection, risk controls, and loss prevention—and a proven ability to operate effectively within a matrixed organizational structure.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification or accreditation from a risk or security management program such as: Certified Security Project Manager (CSPM), Associate Protection Professional (APP), Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), Certified Fraud Investigator (CFE), Professional Certified Investigator (PCI) is a plus.
  • Certification from an interviewing and interrogation program such as Wicklander-Zulawski & Associates, John E. Reid & Associates, or LSI Laboratory for Scientific Interrogation, Inc. (SCAN) is a plus.
  • Leadership experience with a law enforcement agency, military, or other governmental agency with responsibilities for protecting and securing people and assets preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Execute security strategy at the regional level, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and strategic priorities.
  • Serve as the bridge between field operations and corporate security objectives, driving consistency and operational excellence.
  • Develop and implement security strategies, policies, and procedures to manage risk, respond to incidents, safeguard personnel, assets, and facilities.
  • Lead and manage a team of regional security professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance oversight.
  • Partner closely with physical security and technology teams and regional Security Operations Centers (SOCs) to ensure seamless operational integration. This includes coordinating access control, surveillance systems, and supporting both in-region and global incident response efforts to maintain a unified and effective security posture.
  • Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify security gaps and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Provide oversight and support for investigations into criminal acts, theft/property loss, fraud, workplace violence, and other activities that may disrupt operations or impact brand reputation.
  • Develop and manage security awareness and training programs to promote a culture of security and risk awareness.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (IT, HR, Legal, Facilities) to ensure compliance with regulations, guidelines, and industry standards.
  • Build and maintain relationships with law enforcement agencies and external partners to enhance security capabilities and intelligence sharing.
  • Monitor security trends and emerging threats, staying updated on best practices and technologies.
  • Prepare and present reports on security operations, incidents, and KPIs to senior management.
  • Develop and manage the security budget, ensuring effective resource allocation and cost optimization.
  • Implement and maintain security measures for security incident response and incident management.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of security controls and processes to maintain operational readiness.
  • Act as a change agent for process creation, improvement, and standardization, implementing effective monitors and controls.
  • Build business cases to rationalize resource allocation and support new programs and initiatives.
