About The Position

HCT seeks an experienced nursing professional to serve as the Interim Director of Quality & Patient Safety for a 325+ bed hospital in California. The responsibilities of the role include: Design, coordination, implementation and management of Quality Performance Improvement and Patient Safety plans. Identifying opportunities for improvements to patient care, outcomes and reductions in harm. Oversight of accreditation and regulatory survey readiness. Coordination with Medical Staff and Leadership to develop and enhance safe patient care while achieving optimal outcomes. Oversight of event reporting process, root cause analysis, investigations, and requests from Claims Team, including management of subpoenas and complaints.

Requirements

  • Education: BSN preferred. Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field or five (5) years of related job or industry experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of progressive management responsibility in a health care setting, two (2) of which is related to managing an acute care organization’s Quality Improvement Program.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of clinical, patient care experience or equivalent
  • Minimum of three (3) years of patient safety or risk experience within an acute care hospital setting.
  • Having prior experience in CA and knowledge of CA laws and regulations is required.
  • License: CA RN strongly preferred. Current State license in a clinical field. Five (5) years' experience in Quality Management can be used in lieu of state license.
  • EMR: Cerner experience strongly preferred
