The Healthcare Association of New York State (HANYS) is seeking a Director within its Quality Advocacy, Research and Innovation (QARI) division. Reporting into the Vice President, Quality Advocacy, Research & Innovation; Post-Acute/Continuing Care, this position will be responsible for assisting in the formulation of HANYS' quality strategic plan and advocacy agenda through policy analysis, research, and interaction with HANYS' members. Providing relevant information, education/collaboratives, professional programming, and other member tools and resources. Periodic travel to our headquarters in Rensselaer, New York, will be required, but a remote working environment may be considered within New York State. The expected salary range is between $94,760.00 and $100,940.00 annually. Payrate offered will be based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities and in consideration of internal equity. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: This position is responsible for supporting the development of HANYS quality strategic plan and advocacy agendas through policy analysis, research, and in-depth knowledge of Medicare quality reporting programs. Key aspects of this role include: Provide relevant information and insights to support developing and implementing a strategic plan for the division, including federal and state advocacy, quality reporting, performance improvement and patient safety programming. Advocating for changes to state and federal quality reporting and pay-for-performance mandates, particularly for those programs that disproportionately impact New York hospitals. Provide expertise on quality measurement and performance improvement, identify new and emerging policy trends, and educate on state and federal reporting requirements. Monitor and assess development and changes in quality measures and performance methodologies. Obtaining member input and feedback on various quality-related Association policy and programmatic priorities. In collaboration with QARI and cross-divisional staff, coordinate virtual member education programs featuring national and state-recognized faculty to assist members in improving quality reporting and clinical and operational performance. Supporting HANYS' Statewide Steering Committee, its subgroups, and quality-related committees. Leading and supporting HANYS' quality collaboratives and learning/support networks, which may include state partner programs (ex: NYS Stroke, Sepsis, Maternal Health) and others as needed. Being responsive to members' requests by providing timely, accurate, thorough information and support as needed. Support the division's communication strategy, including developing Member Updates, HANYS news articles, PowerPoint presentations, and HANYS.org content to educate members on quality, clinical or operational-related issues. Lead or support grant/contract work and other quality-related collaboratives as assigned.
