About The Position

The Director of the School Partnership Program (SPP) leads the operations of Saint Louis Counseling’s (SLC) school-based mental health services across a multi-county region. The Director ensures reliable, high-quality support for schools and students by overseeing clinician staffing, scheduling, coverage, and partner coordination. Working closely with the Senior Clinical Director, this role supports strong clinical quality, risk management, and compliance while guiding a distributed team of clinicians. The Director also serves as a key partner to school districts, helping translate complex operational and clinical needs into responsive, accessible mental health services for students and families. This is a 12-month position supporting year-round program operations. Some evening and weekend hours may be required for school events, community engagement, and operational priorities.

Requirements

Fully licensed in Missouri as an LPC or LCSW.
Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience, ideally in or related to school-based settings.
Demonstrated experience managing operations in complex, multi-site service models.
Strong knowledge of school systems, clinical risk management, and community-based behavioral health services.
A driver’s license is required (MO residents require Class E), personal vehicle, and auto insurance. The ability to transport participants may be required. Ability to sit, stand, and travel within the community.
Strategic Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with clinicians, school leaders, and community stakeholders.
Operational Leadership: Strong organizational and operational management skills with the ability to coordinate complex services across multiple sites.
Crisis Leadership: Ability to remain calm, decisive, and solutions focused when managing high-stakes or crisis situations.
Stakeholder Relationship Management: Skilled in setting clear expectations and boundaries while maintaining strong partnerships with schools and external partners.
Team Leadership & Accountability: Proven ability to lead teams, support professional growth, and maintain accountability within a mission-driven culture.
Community Engagement & Mobility: Willingness and ability to travel regularly to school sites, community events, and stakeholder meetings.

Responsibilities

Oversee clinician scheduling and coverage across schools and funding streams. Adjust assignments to address service needs, coverage gaps, and operational disruptions.
Monitor productivity and performance standards.
Serve as a key contact for school and district partners. Manage expectations regarding access, coverage, and program scope. Address concerns, represent the program in stakeholder discussions, and support coordination of records for audits.
Ensure safe, compliant clinical services across school sites. Support responses to critical incidents and guide Lead SPP Therapists through escalations. Maintain documentation standards, collaborate on audits and reporting, participate in the Zero Suicide Committee, and provide licensure supervision as needed.
Lead hiring, onboarding, and training for clinicians, interns, and practicum students.
Support Lead SPP Therapists in supervision and development of staff. Facilitate program meetings and lead annual Back-to-School training.
Collaborates closely with clinical leaders, operational teams, and external partners to support effective program delivery.
Maintains regular engagement with schools across a large geographic service area.
Operates effectively in environments with ambiguity, competing priorities, and evolving funding structures.
Work occurs in both office and field settings to support school partnerships and program needs.
