About The Position

As the Operations Director, you are responsible for overseeing the safety, productivity, and efficiency of warehouse and outbound logistics operations for all current and future redistribution Operating Companies. You will be responsible for the monitoring of operational flow to ensure the effective use of people and equipment on a daily basis. A successful candidate will have effectively demonstrated an ability to coordinate processes, lead people, and effectively delegate to directly impact the operation efficiencies within the warehouse and transportation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) or equivalent preferred; or 4 to 10 years related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years in a leadership position supporting warehouse operations and distribution.
  • Prior experience leading as a Warehouse Manager, Operations Manager, or a combination of the two.
  • General financial acumen
  • General mechanical and mathematic skills.
  • Experience partnering with HR leadership to implement and support a healthy People Agenda- Engagement, Retention.
  • Experience owning a Workforce planning process, particularly regarding seasonal peaks in volume within a distribution or warehouse environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Ability to disperse information to the company and across the warehouse.
  • Ability to analyze data, review information, and make suggestions to improve performance.
  • Ability to learn and use electronic management software.

Responsibilities

  • Active member of the Redistribution Leadership Team, supporting operations and the division agenda from a senior leadership perspective.
  • Working knowledge of the profit and loss (P&L) for the OpCos and the impact operations has on successfully impacting the yearly plan.
  • Managing efficient operations of facilities, warehouse, and transportation functions.
  • Working directly with peers in traditional Operating Companies to ensure partnership with redistribution is meeting expectations.
  • Collaborating with other managers to develop and implement operation procedures.
  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring employee productivity/quality action plans.
  • Determining personnel and equipment requirements in accordance with productivity standards.
  • Ensuring Core-Mark, Vistar, OSHA, and DOT standards are met.
  • Promoting safety across all the warehouse and leading safety initiatives.
  • Implementing training programs for the warehouse and transportation employees.
  • Ensuring effective cooperation and communications with other departments.
  • Travel will be required for this position to all current and future OpCos—approximately 75% Travel.
