The Director of Web Strategy and Development provides strategic leadership and technical direction for the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith’s web ecosystem. This position serves as the university’s lead web architect and primary developer, overseeing the design, development, optimization, accessibility, and performance of the university’s public website, intranet, and related digital platforms. Reporting to the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Marketing, the director aligns web strategy with institutional priorities, enrollment growth, brand standards, and user experience expectations. The position oversees development within the university’s enterprise content management and catalog platforms, manages integration with the university’s customer relationship management system, and ensures analytics frameworks are in place to measure performance across organic, paid, and CRM-driven efforts. The director establishes and enforces web governance standards, ensures compliance with accessibility guidelines, and supervises the Web Manager, who supports distributed content editors across campus. This position may be performed on campus in Fort Smith, Arkansas, or remotely. Periodic travel to campus may be required to support strategic planning, major initiatives, and collaborative engagement with university stakeholders.
