About The Position

The City and County of Denver is seeking a Director for the Office of Neighborhood Safety (ONS) within the Office of Social Equity and Innovation (OSEI). OSEI is committed to creating a city where race and other social identities do not predict life outcomes, striving for a more equitable Denver through policy, practice, and budget priorities that target historically marginalized communities. The ONS Director provides strategic and functional leadership for Denver’s community-based safety initiatives, playing a central role in advancing the City’s commitment to equitable, community-centered approaches to violence prevention and neighborhood safety. This role involves partnering with OSEI leadership and citywide partners to shape and advance innovative, collaborative strategies aligned with mayoral goals related to safety, equity, and community well-being. The Director offers functional direction for ONS programs, ensuring alignment between strategy, partnerships, and program impact. While the Deputy Executive Director handles operational management, the Director focuses on strengthening cross-sector collaboration, advancing innovative program approaches, and ensuring ONS initiatives contribute to Denver’s broader community safety ecosystem. The Director will represent ONS in high-visibility settings, build trusted relationships with internal and external partners, and ensure the division delivers effective, equitable solutions for residents and communities.
