About The Position

Position: Director of Technology To Whom Responsible: Superintendent for Student Services Qualifications: Degree: Minimum Bachelor's Degree with major emphasis in computer technologies, information systems or related fields, or Applied Associate Degree in Computer Technology. Preferred Experience: Two years of classroom teacher and/or technology related business experience. Primary Responsibilities: Provides daily management of district's network infrastructure. Manages the integration of technology into administrative facets of the school system. Assists in the previewing and acquisition of management support software. Assists in maintaining technological equipment and support materials. Assists in the development and implementation of the district's technology plan. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Maintain the daily functioning of the district's network. This includes, but is not limited to: switches, routers, cabling, and servers (mail, web, content filter, firewall, library automation, student information system, software update, file/print). Serve as the contact person for the student information system. Maintains district computers, projectors, printers, phones, SmartBoards. Maintain data security. PERSONNEL Participation in the development, revision and implementation of the district's Technology Plan. Participation as a member of the technology team. Oversees computer technicians in day-to-day operations. FINANCE Projects costs necessary for purchasing and maintaining equipment and support materials required to implement the district's Technology Plan. Project costs necessary for required training activities to support infrastructure. Advise the district of financial incentives and price breaks associated with the purchase of technology and related materials. Assists and supports district bidding and purchasing of technology equipment. Completes other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the superintendent or designee. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT The Director of Technology will be employed for 261 days. Compensation is according to education and related experience and will be reviewed annually. All full-time employee benefits will be offered. EVALUATION The performance of the Director of Technology will be evaluated by the Superintendent for Student Services annually in accordance with board policy for Performance-Based Evaluation.
