The Director of Technology owns all aspects of our Technology organization, including both internal IT systems and client-facing technology deployment and support services. This individual will be a key company leader responsible for inspiring and directing action within the Technology organization and collaborating with other operational and commercial leaders across the company to drive growth. The role requires a capable, self-directed technology leader with the heart of a change agent and a clear point of view. The Director of Technology will be tasked with enhancing our IT capabilities, building best-in-class technology support teams, and facilitating the development of IT-based commercial opportunities.

  • Managing our internal IT team, including help desk, network management, and database administration associates
  • Managing cybersecurity, maintaining and enforcing internal/external security policies and standards
  • Managing multi-site and remote networking support and compliance management with applicable standards
  • Managing outsourced IT support resources, including web developers and other project-specific consultants
  • Identifying, vetting, and selecting IT products and vendors, managing deployment, and supporting ongoing use
  • Overseeing our client-facing technical support operations including a team of hardware service technicians, led by a manager-level direct report
  • Institute data-driven performance measurement and management systems
  • Identify and activate opportunities for improved effectiveness and efficiency
  • Conduct thorough review of our current IT infrastructure, map the landscape including uses and dependencies, synthesize advantages/disadvantages, and identify divergences vs. best practice
  • Memorialize current IT structure, processes, and knowledge through SOPs, training manuals, etc.
  • Develop and implement five-year roadmap for internal IT systems and capabilities
  • Partner with the Commercial organization as a thought partner in the development of technology enabled go to market capabilities
  • At least 8 years’ work experience in IT roles
  • At least 4 years’ people management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from a top tier college or university
  • Ability to work onsite full-time at our Middletown, CT, headquarters
  • Experience managing major onsite enterprise software deployments (familiarity with JD Edwards, SAP Business Objects, VMWare, Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce, Microsoft PowerBI, Microsoft Office suite preferred)

  • Base salary of $110,000-$130,000 per year depending on experience
