About The Position

Decagon is rapidly scaling, and we’re looking for a Director of Technical Recruiting to lead, elevate, and innovate our technical hiring engine. In this role, you will own hiring strategy across Engineering, Research, Product and Design, while building and developing a high-performing technical recruiting team. This is a role for a builder and operator - someone who can architect systems, drive exceptional hiring outcomes, and partner deeply with company leadership to grow world class technical teams.

Requirements

  • 7 - 10+ years of recruiting experience, with at least 5 years leading or managing recruiting teams.
  • Demonstrated success building and scaling recruiting functions in high-growth and talent-dense organizations.
  • Exceptional communicator and trusted partner to executives, hiring managers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, context-switching, and the speed of a fast-moving startup.
  • Strong operator with a nose for systems, repeatability, and process excellence.

Nice To Haves

  • Have experience scaling teams from 250 to 1,000+
  • Bring deep knowledge of the AI talent landscape and a network of top-tier candidates.
  • Are highly data-fluent - able to build dashboards, interpret trends, and use insights to influence strategy and prioritization.
  • Have a sharp eye for talent and a clear philosophy on what separates the exceptional from the great.
  • Have experience scaling recruiting teams globally or building functions across multiple office locations or markets.

Responsibilities

  • Build and scale a world-class technical recruiting organization - hiring, mentoring, and developing a high-performing team while setting the bar for operational excellence and talent quality.
  • Define and drive technical hiring strategy across Engineering, Research, Product and Design in close partnership with senior leadership and Co-Founders.
  • Design scalable recruiting systems, processes, and pipelines that enable speed, quality, and repeatability as we grow.
  • Use data and insights to forecast needs, unblock challenges, optimize funnels, and deliver predictable hiring outcomes.
  • Champion a “one-team” mindset, collaborating closely across Talent, People, and technical leadership to hit ambitious company-wide goals.
  • Set the bar for exceptional talent quality, ensuring consistency in candidate assessment, leveling, and hiring decision frameworks.
  • Drive innovative sourcing, engagement, and closing strategies to win top technical talent in highly competitive markets.
