We are currently seeking a talented individual to become the Director of Surveillance. An individual could be successful if they possess the following. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Director of Surveillance manages and directs the surveillance department ensuring strict compliance with state and internal regulations. Requires in-depth knowledge of all policies, procedures, and regulations of all gaming areas and positions. Investigates compliance issues, guest and team member issues and other incidents on the company property. Ensures that all surveillance equipment is functioning properly and within guidelines. Undertakes reviews and investigations at the request of management and police agencies. Ensures that all reporting is done in compliance with regulatory standards. Responsible for all surveillance department staffing, scheduling, training, coaching, discipline and terminations. Always presents a friendly and professional image at the Hotel/Casino. The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary: Responsible for directing the overall operations and staff of the Surveillance department. Develops, implements and manages operational goals and monitors achievements of performance and profit objectives. Ensure that scheduling is done in an effective and efficient manner, while maintaining labor costs, meeting staffing objectives and Gaming regulations. Responsible for preparing, monitoring and adhering to budgets and ensuring compliance to departmental budget initiatives. Reports budget concerns / deviations to the Executive Management / GM. Develop, enforce, review and approve changes or revisions to operating practices, procedures and standards based on business practices and internal controls. Knowledge of and enforcement of all gaming laws and regulations which apply to the functions and duties of the Surveillance Department for which this position is responsible. Oversees the installation, operation and maintenance of all surveillance related equipment. Informs a member of Executive Team and/or General Manager of any irregular activities. Submits all appropriate reports when incidents, infractions, and violations occur. Serve as liaison with gaming regulators, public law enforcement, and other agencies as it relates to Surveillance by maintaining a positive and constructive relationship. Conduct, supervise and prepare reports relating to any incident that is reported. Protect and preserve the assets of the company. Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs. Ensures customer service standards are followed by all team members and addresses issues as they arise. Responsible for the overall achievement of department customer service goals. Responsible for ensuring the compliance with all regulatory compliance within area of responsibility and reporting potential issues to Executive Management / GM. Maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • 8-10 years of casino Surveillance experience.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of casino operations, casino games, casino cheating and embezzlement scams, etc.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of video surveillance systems.
  • Advanced computer knowledge; proficient in all Microsoft applications to include email use, incident report data entry, and report writing.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to read and communicate verbally in English.
  • Written communication skills in in English may also be required.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have acceptable driving history as determined by Oaklawn Jockey Club.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B. A.) preferred or equivalent.
  • At least five years of previous Surveillance leadership experience preferred.
