About The Position

Position Title: Director, State and Federal Reporting Division: Deputy Superintendent of Accountability, Student Achievement, and School Improvement Reports To: Assistant Superintendent of Strategy and Performance FLSA Status: Exempt Salary Schedule: C1 (Doctorate), C1-1 (Specialist), C1-2 (Master's/Bachelor's) Work Days: 244 Primary Job Goal: Responsible for district reporting requirements. Essential Duties: Provide leadership and direction of data collection, regulatory reporting, and management of student information system to maximize district funding and comply with mandated state and federal laws. Lead the district in the design, development, and implementation of data collection processes and systems including FTE, Student Records, and Student Class to include an analysis of school strengths and opportunities for improvement. Guide the design and development of student information solutions to automate and process school administration functions like course requests, school scheduling, and data entry to ensure maximization of human and financial resources. Demonstrate strong, on-going communication and collaboration with principals, district leaders, teachers, students, and parents to ensure clarity in data collection, data use, and regulatory reporting expectations. Work in partnership with the Director of Data Systems and Accountability Reporting to guide the district in the development of organizational data strategies for governance, design, implementation, integration, and usage of student and district data. Work in close partnership with the District and School Performance Department to set the district’s strategy for and approach to data systems and accountability reporting. Lead the district in the design, implementation, and optimization of the student information system (SIS) focused on providing district, school leaders, and teachers with the SIS schematic and layout that effectively and efficiently records information such as enrollment, schedules, grades, and attendance needed to operate schools. Work in partnership with the Director of Data Systems and Accountability Reporting to guide the district’s practices in accountability systems, data use, research, and instructional administration systems and processes. Guide the technological design and refinement of business systems and processes that lead to a system of accountability to foster a culture of high performance. Budget resources (funding, time, people, technology, etc.) appropriately to achieve district priorities, and support and monitor local, state, and federal guidelines, rules, and procedures for effective and appropriate management of funds. Promote a performance culture that aligns data use and reporting that leads to improved classroom instruction and student learning outcomes. Keep abreast of federal and state laws and policies related to instruction and learning and establish procedures to ensure required compliance of these laws and practices. Compile data for and prepare various statistical, administrative, and professional reports as required by the district, Board of Education, State Department of Education, and/or other agencies. Coordinate and prepare reports for various stakeholders on internal research projects and their outcomes. Attend and lead meetings and trainings as required. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree required in Education, Instructional Technology, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Information Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of state and federal reporting experience in an educational setting at the district level required.
  • Minimum of four (4) years as a technical administrator and/or power user of student information system solutions at the district level required.
  • Prior and proven leadership/supervisory experience required.
  • Ability to work well with students, staff, parents, and the community.
  • Must possess a proven track record of building and maintaining strong professional relationships.
  • Exceptional integrity, commitment to confidentiality, excellent character, and strong professional reputation.
  • Ability to abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.
  • Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.
  • Must be able to be present at the physical worksite.
  • Ability to perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
  • Ability to perform routine physical activities such as bending, lifting, and pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.
  • Vision, hearing, written, and verbal communication skills are essential factors in performing essential tasks
