The Director of Sales is responsible for leading all sales efforts for Hyatt Place Schaumburg, strategically located in the highly desirable Woodfield area, one of the strongest and most diverse hotel markets in the Chicagoland suburbs. This role requires Hyatt Place or select-service brand experience, strong same-market expertise, and a proven ability to capitalize on high-volume corporate demand. Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of hotel sales experience, including 2+ years in a Director of Sales or senior leadership role
  • Hyatt Place or select-service brand experience required
  • Direct experience selling within the Schaumburg / Woodfield market
  • Proven success in high-volume suburban corporate hotel environments

  • Established relationships with Woodfield-area corporate accounts and travel managers
  • Strong understanding of negotiated rate strategy, RFP processes, and local demand drivers

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans aligned with Hyatt Place brand standards and ownership goals
  • Drive revenue across corporate, negotiated, group, and transient segments, with a strong focus on Woodfield-area corporate accounts
  • Target and grow business from nearby corporate offices, headquarters, business parks, and regional operations
  • Partner with Revenue Management to maximize ADR, RevPAR, and market share within the Schaumburg competitive set
  • Leverage deep knowledge of the Woodfield corridor and Schaumburg corporate landscape, including major employers, retail headquarters, and business centers
  • Position Hyatt Place Schaumburg as a preferred hotel for corporate travelers visiting the Woodfield area
  • Maintain strong visibility through local networking, chambers, corporate outreach, and industry events
  • Proactively solicit and manage Woodfield-area corporate accounts, travel managers, and regional decision-makers
  • Negotiate and manage RFPs, corporate rate agreements, and group contracts to ensure profitability
  • Conduct regular sales calls, site inspections, and client entertainment within the local market
  • Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and results-driven selling
  • Work closely with hotel operations to ensure exceptional guest experiences that drive repeat business
  • Analyze market trends, pace reports, and competitor performance to refine strategies
  • Prepare detailed forecasts, action plans, and performance updates for ownership and leadership
  • Track ROI and productivity of all sales initiatives
