About The Position

Quanex is looking for a Director of Sales to join our team. This role is responsible for developing and executing the organization’s sales strategy, driving revenue growth, and leading a high-performing sales organization. This role oversees sales planning, forecasting, people leadership, customer engagement, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure sustained market growth and business performance. We offer you! Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field. Experience in lieu of education.
  • Seven or more years of progressive sales experience and a minimum of three years in a leadership role.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.
  • Experience managing a multi-state sales team.
  • Background in strategic account management or enterprise sales.
  • Industrial/manufacturing sales experience within hardware products industry strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and inspire a team of sales managers and/or direct sales professionals.
  • Set clear performance expectations, KPIs, and goals for the sales organization.
  • Foster a high-performance, customer-focused culture aligned with company values.
  • Oversee the full sales pipeline, ensuring accurate forecasting and proactive risk management.
  • Monitor performance metrics and provide regular reporting to senior leadership.
  • Partner with Finance to develop annual budgets, sales targets, compensation models, and incentive plans.
  • Build and maintain strong executive relationships with key customers and strategic partners.
  • Support sales teams in complex negotiations, high value deals, and long-term contract discussions.
  • Represent the company at major industry events, conferences, and trade shows.
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing, Product, Operations, HR, and Finance to ensure aligned commercial priorities.
  • Provide voice-of-customer insights to guide product development, pricing, and brand strategy.
  • Partner with Marketing on lead generation, campaign strategy, and brand positioning.
