About The Position

This is for a high-octane sales leader who knows how to inspire teams, dominate competitive markets, and confidently sell $8+ million annually in private events-while building something iconic. THE OPPORTUNITY Castaway is one of Southern California's most celebrated event destinations-dramatic views, massive scale, and endless possibility. We are searching for a Director of Sales who can take an already powerful private events business and level it up. You'll lead a large, high-volume sales organization, own strategy and execution, and set the tone for how premium hospitality is sold-every single day. This role reports directly to senior leadership and carries real influence, real autonomy, and real upside.

Requirements

  • A proven sales leader with deep experience in hospitality, events, venues, hotels, or luxury services
  • Comfortable leading large teams and holding people to high standards-without killing morale
  • Obsessed with results, metrics, and momentum
  • Charismatic, confident, and unafraid to pick up the phone or jump into a deal
  • Strategic thinker with hands-on execution energy
  • Someone who loves big goals, big personalities, and big wins

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and motivate a high-performing sales team responsible for $8M+ in annual private event revenue
  • Set the vision, pace, and standards for how we sell weddings, corporate events, social celebrations, and buyouts
  • Drive pipeline health, conversion, average check growth, and repeat business
  • Establish sales rhythms: forecasting, reporting, goal-setting, accountability, and performance coaching
  • Establish outbound leads, relationships, and key accounts by networking and marketing
  • Build and nurture relationships with clients by understanding their vision and bringing it to life with the perfect spaces
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Culinary, and Marketing to deliver flawless events and unforgettable guest experiences
  • Personally handle and close top-tier, high-profile, and high-value accounts
  • Create memorable experiences by hosting clients on property
  • Keep the momentum going with dynamic sales efforts out on the field, phone calls, site visits, etc.
