Midco Diving & Marine Services is the leading full-service underwater construction, inspection, and repair firm in the nation. We're seeking a Director of Sales & Business Development to serve as the strategic architect of our revenue growth and market positioning. Reporting directly to the CEO/President, you will own the vision for market expansion, lead a high-performing sales team, and ensure the strategic alignment of our sales and marketing functions. You will be instrumental in capturing high-value, multi-million-dollar contracts and establishing our dominance in emerging water infrastructure markets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or JD preferred due to the heavy emphasis on contract law and P&L management.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in business development, strategic marketing, and sales leadership, with a significant portion in the commercial diving, construction, or heavy civil sectors.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in CRM architecture and strategic "capture" planning for government/municipal bids.
  • Leadership Provenance: Demonstrated ability to manage multi-million-dollar P&Ls and influence at the executive level.
  • Expertise in emerging market strategies and competitive intelligence.
  • Proficient in CRM systems, SOP development, and sales performance analysis.
  • Skilled in contract risk mitigation, satellite office development, and trade show engagement.
  • A natural leader with the ability to leverage talent and align cross-functional teams with corporate goals.

Responsibilities

  • Market Expansion: Spearhead entry and expansion into new markets for potable and industrial water projects, cultivating strategic relationships with key industry stakeholders (contractors, engineering firms, government entities, and associations).
  • Sales Leadership & P&L: Lead, coach, and manage a team of Regional Account Managers, owning P&L responsibility for sales results and modeling top-tier salesmanship.
  • Strategic & Operational Excellence: Design and implement scalable business strategies, standardize best practices through SOP development, and manage the CRM lifecycle to provide real-time performance insights to the leadership team.
  • Contract & Risk Management: Execute contract review (including client contracts and project agreements), develop standardized Master Services Agreements (MSAs).
  • Branding & Marketing: Direct the sales department, manage vendor relationships, and elevate brand presence through high-impact technical presentations, trade show management, and the development of compelling marketing collateral and SOQs.
