About The Position

At Franciscan, the Director of Referral Management is critical for developing, standardizing, centralizing, and optimizing the referral program across markets. In this role you will assist in forming the referral strategy and overseas operations related to referral management and patient access. This role provides leadership to a team of referral supervisors and coordinators focused on delivering a seamless experience for new or established patients and referring providers. This position will report to the VP of Patient Engagement and Access. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT Develop, standardize, centralize, and optimize the referral process, workflows, and education. Strategically develop the relationships, operational infrastructure, and best practices that allow the referral program to identify opportunities and improve efficiency, patient access, and provider relations. Collaborate with stakeholders to achieve strategic initiatives related to referral management, patient outreach, and patient access by maintaining the integrity of the referral network, identifying system solutions, collaborating with partner organizations, and overseeing physician relationships. Direct the assessment, design, development, planning, implementation, data collection/reporting, and evaluation of referral management, specialist utilization, patient portal activities, and closed-loop Epic-to-Epic referral solution to accelerate and streamline the referral process. Collaborates with Operational Analysts to create Referral program reports and ensures timely preparation of referral key performance indicators/metrics for dissemination to senior leaders and stakeholders. Oversee assessment, implementation, evaluation, and revision of existing and new technology and programs to keep pace with emerging trends. Must be willing to travel onsite from time to time as needed for leadership meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Health Administration or Business - Required -OR- Associates Degree Healthcare Administration (Business) or Healthcare related - Required - WITH - 4 years of Director Referral Management, Director of Quality, or Director level related health care experience in lieu of bachelors - Required
  • 8 years of related experience in a corporate or business setting, managed health care, hospital, or insurance environment, with at least three of those years at the management level or higher. Required -AND- 6 years progressively responsible experience in health care, including demonstrated success in an administrative capacity with responsibilities working directly with physicians. - Required
  • Must have experience with referral management
  • TRAVEL IS REQUIRED: Up to 20%
