About The Position

WICB is looking for a Director of Public Relations and Underwriting for the 2026-2027 academic year. This student employment program at Ithaca College offers meaningful experiential learning opportunities that develop transferable skills sought by employers across various industries. These positions allow students to apply classroom knowledge in real-world professional settings, fostering both personal and professional growth. Requirements

  • Is outgoing and willing to work with community organizations, companies, and individuals to solicit funds via underwriting opportunities that support the station
  • Is organized and detail-oriented
  • Is a strong communicator both in-person and via email
  • Is able to attend weekly WICB Executive Staff meetings and General Staff meetings (Wednesdays at 6:30-7 p.m.)
  • Has been a member of WICB for at least one semester
  • Is a collaborative team player

  • Attach both a resume and cover letter
  • Successful completion of the I-9 and employment eligibility requirements
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check

Responsibilities

  • Work with community organizations, companies, and individuals to solicit funds via underwriting opportunities that support the station
  • Work with the Production Director to create audio PSAs and underwriting announcements
  • Attend weekly WICB Executive Staff meetings
  • Attend General Staff meetings (Wednesdays at 6:30-7 p.m.)
