About The Position

Professional Development Director: Coordinates general orientation for all new hire employees. Provides staff education for all departments, as needed. Maintains all aspect of the on-line learning management system. Responsible for maintaining employee competency and education documentation. Assist department leaders with developing and providing annual mandatory education. Communicates facility polices & procedures to employees & serves as a liaison between employees & administration, and between nursing & other departments. Coordinates the AHEC program & works with HR to coordinate other student (non-nursing) programs. Maintains files for students. Coordinates & provides orientation to nursing schools utilizing LRMC for clinical rotations Maintains files for student nurses. Communicates with nursing agencies & provides orientation to agency nursing staff. Promotes the hospital by attending career fair at universities & nursing schools, as well as local elementary middle & high schools. Selects, orders & maintains recruitment material for recruitment & retention.

Requirements

  • Current RN or LPN License
  • Licensed to practice in the State of Louisiana
  • Minimum of 5 years clinical experience, with minimum 2 years in training / education experience
