About The Position

Responsible for product line management and drive the sales of standard automation solutions to end-user customers through Gosiger & Non-Gosiger Okuma Distributorships. This position is primarily accountable for automation sales revenues, gross profit margins, and sales growth/market penetration through the identified account channels. The incumbent is responsible to define and implement the strategies, plans and tactics to establish, develop, manage, and maintain strong distribution partner and end-user customer relationships. This position is considered a Safety Sensitive position.

Requirements

  • Experience in machine tool processes / automation engineering demonstrating a strong electro mechanical/technical aptitude.
  • A global view of the standard automation with a good understanding of necessary components required for a successful implementation.
  • Must have the capability to set-up and operate any product within the standard automation product line.
  • Superior interpersonal communication skills, professional demeanor, customer confidence and relationship building abilities.
  • Honesty, personal integrity, and initiative necessary to work independently without direct supervision or oversight.
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to think independently and express/convey new thoughts and alternative methods.
  • Strong negotiation and persuasion skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in individual time management.
  • Demonstrated application of basic computer skills.

  • Ability and willingness to travel as job demands; minimum 20% travel.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains a strong working knowledge of automation primarily as related to the machine tool industry and related processes, automation products and services sold.
  • Manages mentors and develops the AWR product engineering team.
  • Oversees the engineering development schedule and R&D budget.
  • Manages the manufacturing engineering process including overseeing the manufacturing engineering group, controlling the engineering change order process and the assembly work instructions.
  • Manages the AWR OEM service group.
  • Group maintains technical documentation including user documentation and installation documentation.
  • Oversees service escalation issues and coordinates feedback from service issues to future design changes.
  • Responsible for working closely with Marketing Team for product releases.
  • Provides technical input for sales materials, brochures, quotes, customer email blasts, and website content.
  • Provides technical support as needed to the custom engineering group for modified AWR solutions.
  • Maintains a strong teamwork relationship with distribution partners and Gosiger team members.
  • Based on business need, assists, supports and/or performs other duties within scope and ability.
  • Assumes accountability and responsibility for assigned projects and programs.
