About The Position

The Director of Planning and Institutional Effectiveness leads the ongoing assessment, institutional research, and data reporting/standardization for all University functions, programs, services and activities. The Director coordinates and supports the development and maintenance of the University’s strategic plan and assessment processes. The role manages and coordinates all aspects of institutional accreditation and acts as the Accreditation Liaison Officer with the University’s institutional regional accrediting commission. This position is under the general direction of the Vice President of Strategy and Integrated Planning, responsible for one shift, 8 hours/day, 5 days/week. Incumbents are subject to hours beyond the normal workday.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Seven (7) years of progressive leadership experience with five (5) of those years being in higher education experience.
  • 7-10 years of experience in the areas of institutional planning, effectiveness, accreditation, and research
  • Experience supporting or leading SACSCOC accreditation, including compliance certification and reaffirmation processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams.
  • Demonstrated expertise in institutional research methodologies and data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees activities related to overall institutional assessment of effectiveness for educational, administrative, and support services.
  • Leads the University’s strategic planning process and tracking of its related performance indicators in collaboration with the Vice President of Strategy and Integrated Planning, Leadership Team, colleges and departments.
  • Serves as the University’s Accreditation Liaison, leading institutional accreditation efforts and providing guidance on data identification and validation for programmatic accreditations.
  • Directs and audits the collection, analysis, and reporting of official institutional data related to performance metrics, trend analysis, benchmarks, and required internal and external reports.
  • Conducts and oversees institutional research by analyzing data and synthesizing findings to inform decision-making, planning, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Supports the development, implementation, monitoring, and revision of institutional policies related to accreditation standards, institutional effectiveness, and strategic planning.
  • Performs other accountabilities as required or directed.
