About The Position

Commonwealth Eye Surgery is an optometry- and ophthalmology-focused co-management organization that features state-of-the-art, multispecialty eye care practice and an eye-only Ambulatory Surgery Center. Commonwealth Eye Surgery is looking for a self-directed, and organized individual to drive sales, marketing, and public relations for our practice. A Physician Liaison serves as a representative for our in-house providers and referring physicians. A successful liaison closes gaps in care for patients and bridges the communication gap with referring providers. Responsibilities include developing, cultivating, and maintaining long-term partnerships with area physicians and medical specialty groups to enhance lines of communication and build the referral base for the practice. About this amazing opportunity and what you will be responsible for: The Physician Liaison is responsible for developing and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships between Commonwealth Eye Surgery and referring healthcare providers and their practices, thus generating a referral stream of new patients. In addition to promoting Commonwealth Eye Surgery and key lines of service to physicians and non-physician referral sources, the Liaison is responsible for gathering information which will assist the organization in the achievement of its goal of service excellence and fiscal vitality. The Physician Liaison, reporting to management and in-house Doctors, is an integral part of the overall physician relations function for Commonwealth Eye Surgery, working together to position the organization as the leader in the delivery of quality eye, patient-centered, related services.

Requirements

  • Requires computer skills in word processing, presentation, and sales contact management programs.
  • Requires excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Candidate should be highly self-motivated and achievement oriented.
  • Candidate should be comfortable with a high degree of people interaction.
  • Ability to commute to referring offices with personal vehicle.
  • Work some evenings and weekends.
  • Proficient in preparation and execution of marketing events and educational dinners.
  • In-Depth knowledge of Optometry and Ophthalmology services and surgical options.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration or Health Sciences
  • Two years of successful direct sales experience in related fields within a health care or pharmaceutical/medical device corporation.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer previous experience dealing with physicians.
  • Prefer sales experience within healthcare specifically ophthalmology/optometry focus, with a demonstrated track record of success.
  • Knowledge of greater central, south, and eastern KY healthcare market is ideal.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships between Commonwealth Eye Surgery and referring healthcare providers and their practices, thus generating a referral stream of new patients.
  • Promoting Commonwealth Eye Surgery and key lines of service to physicians and non-physician referral sources
  • Gathering information which will assist the organization in the achievement of its goal of service excellence and fiscal vitality.
  • Creates functional strategies and specific objectives to support department.
  • Develops budgets, policies, and procedures to support the functional infrastructure.
  • Work closely with providers and practice administrators to help Commonwealth Eye Surgery and its partners in vision achieve success, ensuring the process is patient-centered, data-rich and results-driven.
