About The Position

The End Drug Shortages Alliance (EDSA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to collaborating with its health system, supply chain, and other stakeholder members to solve pharmaceutical supply challenges to end drug shortages. The EDSA is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Development & Engagement to join our team. You can learn more about EDSA by visiting End Drug Shortages Alliance The Director of Development & Engagement is a senior leader at the End Drug Shortages Alliance, responsible for driving the organization’s growth, sustainability, and visibility. This role oversees all fundraising, membership, sponsorship, and stakeholder engagement activities, building strong relationships that expand the Alliance’s impact. The Director plays a critical role in securing resources, advancing partnerships, and ensuring the Alliance continues to deliver on its mission to end drug shortages. At ASHP, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. The salary range for this position is $100,000-110,000 and ASHP offers a comprehensive benefits plan. This position is eligible to be remote but the individual must work from one of the following states so we can follow appropriate tax laws: AZ, CO, DC, FL, GA, IL, IN, IA, KY, MA, MD, MI, MN, NC, NJ, NY, OH, OR, PA, RI, SC, SD, TX, VA, WI, WV. Note: this position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.

Requirements

  • Ability to build strategic relationships to enroll partners into the mission and increase funding to organization.
  • Ability to ask for funding in an engaging and effective manner.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to strengthen financial sustainability and organizational reach.
  • Excellent Presence: Represent the Alliance with credibility, confidence, and clarity at events, meetings, and presentations.
  • Inspire Board members, staff, and partners to actively participate in fundraising and engagement efforts.
  • Experience with coordinating and balancing competing priorities including key tasks and schedules.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree in nonprofit management, or related field preferred.
  • 5–7+ years of progressive experience in fundraising, corporate partnerships, or membership engagement.
  • Proven success in securing and stewarding corporate sponsorships, support, and/or grant funding.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences.
  • This position requires occasional domestic travel

  • Federal grant experience—including writing proposals, managing awards, and ensuring compliance with reporting requirements—a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies, including corporate sponsorships, grants, and membership contributions.
  • Lead growth, retention, and engagement to ensure strong value and alignment with the Alliance’s mission.
  • Oversee communications and engagement strategies that expand visibility and strengthen the Alliance’s reputation.
  • Represent EDSA at industry events and networking opportunities, positioning the Alliance as the trusted convener.
  • Ensure proposals, award agreements, scopes of work, and reports are delivered accurately and on time.
  • Maintain systems to track all funding related requirements and deadlines.
  • Track donor meetings, fundraising activities, and outcomes, maintaining accurate records of engagement.
  • Prepare monthly development reports for the Executive Director and other leadership,
  • Serve as a primary connector between members, sponsors, and the Alliance, ensuring they feel engaged, valued, and aligned with our mission to end drug shortages.
  • Design and deliver opportunities for meaningful interaction through roundtables, forums, events, and working groups. Develop engagement pathways that demonstrate clear value.
  • Develop sponsor engagement plans that highlight visibility, thought leadership, and alignment with EDSA initiatives.
  • Facilitate connections across sectors—health systems, suppliers, distributors, GPOs, manufacturers—building cross-stakeholder relationships that fuel solutions.
  • Translate member feedback into actionable improvements that strengthen the Alliance.
