About The Position

Classic Cap USA, based in Garland, Texas, is experiencing exciting growth and we are looking for a hands-on, entrepreneurial Director of Operations to help lead and scale our made in USA cut and sew, screen print, and embroidery manufacturing business. This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious professional who is ready to take on broad leadership responsibility, grow alongside the company, and build toward a senior executive role as the organization expands. The Director of Operations will serve as the senior operational leader of the business, overseeing all core functions including accounting, plant operations, product development, creative art teams, customer service, and logistics. Reporting directly to ownership, this person will be a trusted partner in day-to-day decision-making and long-term business development. This role requires strong leadership, sound judgment, and the ability to drive operational excellence while balancing cost, quality, and customer satisfaction.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, and ERP or business management systems.
  • Acts with strong ethical integrity in all situations, upholding the company's mission, vision, and values.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or institution, or equivalent years of experience and education.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in cut and sew, screen print, embroidery, or soft goods manufacturing required. Experience in apparel, headwear, fashion accessories, or sewn products industries strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams with multiple direct reports.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position (seated) 80% of the day and occasionally reach, bend and move inside the office to access files and product.
  • Required to have close visual acuity to perform computer tasks and operate other office machinery.
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with internal and external customers and must be able to exchange accurate information in a clear manner.
  • Ability to move up to 50 lbs occasionally for show booths (setup & teardown); approximately 5-6 times per year.

Responsibilities

  • Provide unified direction and oversight across all departments including accounting, plant operations, design and artwork, and customer service.
  • Partner with department leads to align priorities, remove obstacles, and drive consistent performance across the organization.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable culture where teams are engaged and motivated to grow.
  • Plan and manage human resources needs across all departments.
  • Lead recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and placement of staff at all levels.
  • Coordinate with managers to oversee daily administrative operations including staff scheduling, timekeeping, and performance monitoring.
  • Implement and reinforce organizational initiatives, ensuring training and adoption across teams.
  • Collaborate with the Plant Manager to ensure efficient, high-quality production operations.
  • Coordinate and monitor the activities of all departments involved in production.
  • Track performance metrics and implement improvements to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Exercise independent judgment in operational decision-making to ensure high-quality products are produced efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Own the company's operating budget, P&L, and financial reporting processes.
  • Work closely with the accounting team to monitor cash flow, control costs, and identify opportunities for improved profitability.
  • Contribute to financial planning and ensure resources are aligned to meet business and operational goals.
  • Proactively challenge year-over-year cost increases and drive efficiency initiatives.
  • Oversee customer service operations to ensure a consistently excellent client experience.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, identifying emerging needs and opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively to deliver innovative, value-adding solutions to clients on time and within budget.
  • Review sales and profit performance by area and center, taking corrective actions as needed.
  • Oversee the design and artwork team, ensuring workflows support production timelines and meet client expectations.
  • Serve as an escalation point for creative approvals, quality issues, and client feedback.
  • Provide regular operational and financial updates to ownership and the Board of Directors.
  • Prepare and deliver weekly and monthly reports summarizing performance, milestones, and areas of focus.
