About The Position

The Director of Operations is responsible for organizing and overseeing the daily operations of the company's business unit. This role ensures the business unit is well-coordinated and productive by managing procedures and coaching the people involved in operations. Key responsibilities include operations capacity planning, resource management, and developing and executing a production strategy aligned with site objectives for Safety, Cost, Quality, and Delivery. The Director will support business unit growth, build skill sets, and lead a strong team with cross-functional responsibilities. They will drive process flow improvements, manage production staffing for flexibility and productivity, and ensure on-time delivery using lean tools and enabling technologies. The position involves collaborating with the General Manager on annual manufacturing budgets, coaching team members, and fostering a strong culture consistent with Creation Core Values. As a member of the Business Unit’s Leadership Team, this role is crucial for achieving the Company’s Vision and Strategy. The Director will also collaborate with other functional teams to establish procedures for compliance with standards, regulations, OEM obligations, and customer requirements, and manage Health, Safety, and Environmental functions to drive best practices. Additionally, the role supports other areas of the company with joint initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 10+ years of manufacturing or operations leadership experience
  • Entrepreneurial, innovative, flexible team player with a good business acumen, high degree of personal initiative, strong leadership and people skills, and effective presentation and communication abilities
  • Ability to create and maintain a capacity plan for production
  • Must be driven by high degree of integrity and professional standards
  • Understanding of lean, continuous improvement, quality and related topics, with relevant work experience
  • Must possess outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) industry or related industry is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the business unit’s operations capacity planning and resources
  • Develop and lead the execution of a production strategy that supports the site objectives for Safety, Cost, Quality and Delivery
  • Support business unit growth while continuing to build the skill sets and lead a strong team of people with cross-functional responsibilities
  • Drive actions to improve process flow and manage production staffing requirements to retain flexibility and optimum productivity
  • Drive on-time delivery processes using a combination of lean tools and the selective application of enabling technologies that eliminate non-value-added activities, reduce errors, and increase customer satisfaction
  • Work with the GM on establishing an annual manufacturing budget
  • Coach team members and continue to support the Creation Core Values while developing a strong culture
  • Serve as a member of the Business Unit’s Leadership Team and play a key role in the achievement of the Company’s Vision and Strategy within the business unit
  • Collaborate with other Functional teams in the establishment of procedures as required by the appropriate standards/ regulations, OEM contractual obligations and customer requirements, in ensuring our continuing compliance
  • Manage the Health and Safety and Environmental functions to drive best practices within the business unit
  • Support other areas of the company with respect to joint initiatives
