About The Position

The Director of Operations serves as a key member of the management team, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of La Liga. Reporting to the Regional Director, the Director of Operations is accountable for the strategic management of grant-funded programs, business development initiatives, and staff supervision. This role will also serve as a liaison across internal and external stakeholders and is responsible for developing and implementing strategies that support program expansion, operational efficiency, and the overall growth of La Liga.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3—5 years of progressive experience in a management or supervisory role, preferably within a nonprofit organization.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Public Administration, Social Services, or a related field required; master's degree preferred. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
  • Demonstrated leadership with the ability to think strategically, plan effectively, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong experience and knowledge of community-based programs, including but not limited to substance use services, preventive social services, senior services, supportive housing, and/or food programs.
  • Proven ability to apply sound business judgment and decision-making, with a focus on operational efficiency and program impact.
  • Experience with staff supervision, coaching, and team development.
  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders. Bilingual Preferred
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a small team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and support the growth and retention of funded programs, ensuring compliance with all grant and contract requirements.
  • Ensure all administrative, operational, and financial policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to by program staff.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders, including funders, community partners, and government agencies.
  • Provide leadership in both internal operations and external program structuring, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services and continuous improvement of systems and processes.
  • Supervise staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality, efficient, and client-centered services. Identify staff training needs and gaps, coordinate access to training resources, and ensure compliance with all mandatory training requirements, including maintaining tracking systems for staff participation.
  • Represent the program, department, and agency professionally when interacting with internal and external stakeholders, fostering collaboration and shared understanding.
  • Identify and pursue new funding opportunities and collaborate with leadership to develop proposals that support program expansion and sustainability.
  • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, including both narrative and quantitative data, to funders and internal stakeholders.
  • Communicate regularly with leadership regarding program performance, including strengths, challenges, and opportunities for growth.
  • Establish and maintain tracking and reporting systems to ensure program deliverables, outcomes, and financial targets are met accurately and on time.
  • Oversee the administration of program budgets and billing processes and implement improvements to increase efficiency and accountability.
  • Monitor program financial performance, including monthly budget reviews, identifying variances and recommending strategies to maximize revenue and control costs.
  • Identify staff training needs and gaps, coordinate access to training resources, and ensure compliance with all mandatory training requirements, including maintaining tracking systems for staff participation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
