About The Position

The Director of Operations is a strategic, results-driven leader responsible for overseeing the performance, scalability, and continuous improvement of all manufacturing operations at QTS. This role ensures the organization consistently delivers high-quality products safely, on time, and at or below cost targets. The Director will develop operational capabilities, drive cross-functional alignment, and lead the organization toward its long-term growth and operational excellence goals. This leader builds strong teams, drives innovation, and elevates QTS’ operational maturity through disciplined processes, lean principles, and a strong culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Operations, or Business Management
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in forecasting, capacity planning, and scheduling
  • Experience working with lean manufacturing principles, practices, and tools
  • Experience working in a regulated organization
  • Experience in supply chain operations and planning processes
  • Ability to drive quality, cost, and safety results through process management and improvement
  • Ability to lead and develop successful teams
  • Business and financial acumen
  • Ability to consistently achieve short and long-term business results
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in medical device contract manufacturing, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deploy a multi-year operational roadmap aligned to company financial and strategic objectives.
  • Lead a culture of continuous improvement through lean methodologies, standard work, and structured problem solving.
  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations leadership team with clear succession planning.
  • Partner with HR to improve engagement, strengthen talent pipelines, and create structured learning and development opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, transparency, and empowerment.
  • Lead or co-lead SIOP (Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning) processes and improve forecast accuracy, capacity planning, and readiness.
  • Provide operational insights, risks, and opportunities to support customer engagements and business development activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and customer requirements, especially within medical device or similar regulated environments.
  • Accountable for the operations budget, including labor, overhead, capital expenditures, and inventory performance.
  • Serve as liaison between manufacturing and other functional departments in the development and implementation of company strategy and operations.
  • Drive innovation and communication of the latest industry trends and best practices in the manufacturing/medical device industries.
  • Work closely with the Director of Quality on investigations, validations, and regulatory compliance.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration between Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and Sales to align supply plans with business objectives.
