About The Position

We are seeking a seasoned Director of Operations to lead and scale operational delivery across complex, regulated environments. This role is responsible for translating strategic objectives into structured, measurable execution across programs, projects, systems, and teams. The ideal candidate blends operational governance, program leadership, financial oversight, and cross-functional alignment to ensure predictable, compliant, and high-performing delivery. This leader is equally comfortable engaging executive stakeholders and rolling up their sleeves to improve systems, processes, and accountability mechanisms.

Requirements

  • 10–15+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations, program management, or IT/service delivery
  • Familiarity with PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge) principles and project management best practices
  • Experience supporting government, public sector, or highly regulated industries
  • Demonstrated progression from project execution to portfolio or operational leadership
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional, matrixed teams
  • Strong financial oversight and operational accountability experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, or related discipline
  • Calm, steady, and highly organized
  • Detail-oriented while maintaining strategic perspective
  • Strong ownership mentality
  • Natural operator and integrator
  • Comfortable leading through growth and ambiguity
  • High integrity and accountability

Nice To Haves

  • PMP certification
  • Experience building or scaling PMOs
  • Experience implementing governance frameworks in growing organizations
  • Familiarity with ISO, CMMC, or regulated compliance environments
  • Formal project management or operational leadership training (PMP, Lean, Six Sigma, Agile etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Oversee end-to-end operational delivery across programs COTS/turn-key solutions and service lines
  • Translate executive strategy into actionable operating plans
  • Lead resource planning, capacity management, and workforce alignment
  • Own budget forecasting, cost control, and financial performance metrics
  • Ensure audit readiness, compliance, and risk mitigation
  • Assist with maturation of existing PMO and portfolio governance frameworks
  • Drive project execution and growth across large, multi-year initiatives
  • Implement enterprise delivery standards and reporting cadence
  • Monitor scope, schedule, performance metrics, and outcomes
  • Ensure initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget
  • Develop scalable, repeatable operational processes
  • Implement portfolio prioritization and performance dashboards
  • Strengthen documentation, compliance, and operational transparency
  • Identify opportunities to reduce risk and improve efficiency
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives
  • Serve as trusted operational advisor to executive leadership
  • Partner with department heads, technical leaders, and external stakeholders
  • Provide executive-level reporting, decision support, and risk escalation
  • Facilitate high-stakes discussions and drive alignment
