About The Position

Oversee the plant controller function, driving plant-level financial planning, forecasting, and performance management across manufacturing. Ensure the overall financial health of the plants, including budgeting, cost control, and variance analysis. Partner closely with Plant Operations to support decision-making and drive cost optimization, while ensuring financial discipline and transparency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Operations Finance or FP&A, preferably in the food industry
  • 5+ years of experience in plant finance, cost accounting, or operational finance within manufacturing
  • Expertise in financial systems (SAP, Power BI) and advanced analytics
  • Deep knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, and financial reporting
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic planning capabilities
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to lead teams, manage tight deadlines, and operate effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor team of plant controllers, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
  • Develop and communicate policies for accounting processes in partnership with Plant Operations
  • Lead the review and approval of journal entries and month-end activities
  • Lead the review of month-end results and variance analysis
  • Oversee the coordination/consolidation of reporting
  • Oversee the coordination/consolidation of AOP, throughputs, and activity rates
  • Serve as SAP and Activity Rates subject matter expert
  • Own special projects as requested by Sr. Director of Operations Finance
  • Ensure coverage for interim Plant Controller responsibilities:
  • Maintain financial operations at assigned plants
  • Process SAP month-end procedures to identify and settle process order variances
  • Monitor and report on KPIs via weekly reports, including volume, throughputs, and run rates
  • Review and analyze variances to standards; review scrap
  • Plan and prepare forecasts, AOP, and AOP standards
  • Act as partner for plant managers and plant management staff
  • Support food safety program, quality standards, and legality of manufactured products
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
