As the Director of Operations – Network Director, you will provide direction for Stanford’s growing off campus, Bay Area lab services. This is a new Director role which supports our Lab services in San Jose, Redwood City, Emeryville, Tri-Valley and includes a growing footprint of Patient Service Centers and physical lab testing sites. You will lead many strategic initiatives including workflow optimization, platform consolidation, increasing test menus, and partnering with key service lines such as Oncology Services to support their growth. This role offers the unique opportunity to collaborate with industry leading Pathologists and Technical Specialists to manage complex operational changes and deliver results that shape the future of laboratory services at Stanford Health Care and to the Bay Area community. The Director of Operations – Network Director will work report to the Vice President of Clinical Laboratories and work closely with the Operations Directors for AP and CP. Knowledge and experience in Clinical Pathology, laboratory system workflows, and space planning/lab design are preferred. This is a Stanford Health Care job. A Brief Overview Under the direction of the Administrative Director, the Clinical Director – Lab Operations position performs responsible administrative work in planning, organizing, and directing the staff and services in a major organizational segment or component within the Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Laboratory Service at Stanford Health Care. This position is the highest management level in the Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Laboratories below the Administrative Director in which managing the delivery of one or more major program component(s) or segment(s) within the laboratories is the primary purpose. This classification may be distinguished from the Administrative Director – Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Laboratories in that the latter has full managerial and leadership responsibility for all programs and resources within the Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Laboratories Department. This positin has full responsibility for project management processes and systems, service metrics, space planning, organizing, meeting performance management objectives, directing, and controlling resources and program delivery in assigned areas; including developing and implementing policies and procedural controls, quality improvement, the Stanford Operating System, compliance, competency assessment, patient care, budget development and control, personnel administration, and procurement. This is a managerial class with substantial responsibility for the exercise of independent judgment in employing, disciplining, or adjudicating grievances of subordinates.
