Much more online at: austinoakshospital.com The Director of Nursing is a key member of the Austin Oaks Leadership Team who will integrate and coordinate a patient centric nursing strategy with a keen focus on patient care; ensuring that delivery of high-quality and cost-effective health care is consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Universal Health Services and in accordance with government regulation, licensing and accreditation requirements. The DON participates in the hospital's strategic planning and contributes to the achievement of institutional goals and objectives. The DON will provide administrative and clinical supervision over Nursing Services including effective utilization of the nursing process to provide quality patient care, establish Standards of Practice, and provide effective fiscal management as well as provide for patient and employee safety and well-being. The Director of Nursing needs to be available weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

  • MSN in psych - mental health nursing, or BSN and a master's degree in a health related field with three years hospital RN experience, or BSN with three years hospital RN experience and receive four hours per month clinical consultation from MSN in psych-mental health nursing
  • Current Texas Board of Nursing Licensure as a Registered Nurse in good standing
  • CPR Certification
  • Texas Driver's License
  • Minimum of five years experience in psychiatric, mental health, and/or rehabilitation nursing with a minimum of three years progressive supervisory/management experience in psychiatric, mental; health, and/or rehabilitation nursing
