About The Position
The Director of Behavioral Health provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for inpatient behavioral health services. This role ensures compliance with regulatory standards, promotes patient safety, and fosters a culture of excellence in mental health care delivery.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of recent (within the last year) acute care inpatient behavioral health leadership experience (Manager or Assistant Nurse Manager)
- Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS/BLS) certification within 30 days of start date
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification within 90 days of start date
- Fingerprint clearance required
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Responsibilities
- Direct daily operations of the inpatient behavioral health unit
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, and hospital policies
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Oversee staff development, training, and performance evaluations
- Promote a safe, therapeutic environment for patients and staff
